New bird alert! Just finished a new bird portrait. The 16th one of my bird portraits series and inspired by the Blue tit. It’s a reduction linoleum print with 17 (!) colour layers. And I’m truly happy with the result, really think it has become a very nice, cute one and a lovely addition to the series. The recent warm weather and especially the humidity, caused significant delays because it affected the drying time and fluidness of the lino ink a lot so several times I had to skip printing until better circumstances. It’s difficult to capture all detailedness in the videos due to the light on different days, but I will share some close-up pictures soon that will do more justice to the details and colors. I do mix all colors myself and I always make a lot of color tests to match the combinations of colors together and figure out what happens with transparency. For each colour layer I did carve more linoleum away from the same linoleum block. As a result, the linoleum block is reduced to almost nothing and not suitable anymore for reprinting. It’s a limited edition print run.
